A chronicle of the grassroots effort to save the iconic State Theatre in North Point from demolition. Description

These three stand alone shorts are a reflection of the state of Hong Kong in 2021; this city is as always, an entrepot.

Departure: A young Hongkonger couple do some soul searching en route to the airport and their impending immigration to the UK. Their taxi driver joins their reverie. A poignant elegy to the international city-state - its built environment, its liminal spaces, and its unique rhythms of life in media res.

06:00 AM: Anxiety-ridden student, Yan spirals into a nightmare reality where she is forced to submit to mandatory government surveillance. Her teacher tries to reason with her resistance to this Orwellian state of existence. Is she going off the deep end or is this particular fate close at hand?

The Night Before: Wei, Tracy, and Chun, three twenty somethings from different walks of life, became fast friends as a result of their participation in the pro-democracy movement. As Wei prepares to be incarcerated the next day, the three pals cycle along the city streets at night and philosophize about their past actions and thoughts of the future.
