Chan Sipui (陳士培) sought refuge with relatives who owned a restaurant in New York. He later entered a relationship with his colleague, A-Heung(阿香). Sipui met Wong Yukfan (黃玉芬), the laundry shop owner, and was captivated by her business. He devised a plan to marry Yukfan to obtain control of the laundry shop. Furthermore, Sipui aimed to deceive A-Hueng and take her money. He set up a scheme to kill Yukfan and dismember her body. However, Yukfan's daughter discovered the bloodstains and reported the incident to the police, leading to Sipui's arrest and subsequent trial.

在中國電影史上，有一位被遺忘的天才——伍錦霞。作為第三代華人，在舊金山長大的她，會說粵語，會寫漢字，本人很美，卻ㄧ身男裝。伍錦霞沒受過專業的電影訓練，靠在戲院兼職售票員時看的1000多部電影，自學成才做導演，創造了多個“第一”。伍錦霞是第一名在美國工作的華人女導演，也是香港第一名女生在香港執導的導演。伍導演的一生拍了11 部電影，其中10部由她導演。四部在美國任導演，而在香港則參與了五部電影的導演工作。其中一部電影《女人世界》(1939) 破天荒以全女班拍攝。紐約碎屍案 (1961) 是現存伍錦霞的唯一作品。
In the history of Chinese film, there is a forgotten genius. Her name is Esther Eng or Ng Kam-ha. As a third-generation Chinese American, she was born in San Francisco, but she spoke Cantonese and wrote Chinese characters. She was beautiful as a woman but dressed like a man from head to toe. She never received professional training in filmmaking, but taught herself by watching over 1,000 films in the theatre she worked part-time for. She later became a director who achieved many firsts. Esther Eng was the first female director to direct Chinese-language films in the United States and the first woman director in Hong Kong. Director Eng made 4 movies in the States and 5 in Hong Kong. One of the ones she directed and co-wrote was It’s a Women’s World (1939, a.k.a. 36 Amazons) featured an all-female cast of 36 actresses. Murder Case in Chinatown (1961) is the only film we can watch today.
